Overview
The 7 panels that were originally produced for the John Muir, Earth-Planet, Universe exhibition were intended to be displayed in the John Muir Birthplace but Covid-19 arrangements there have curtailed these plans. So, this extra – explanatory – panel has been produced to provide a little more context as staff and volunteers at the Birthplace are not on hand to provide the introduction to this exhibition.
The exhibition was always intended to be a catalyst to a series of events and activities in conjunction with other local groups and projects. And so it has proved to be as community groups with the the Dunbar and East Linton ward have been inspired by the potential to enact change through community-led action. The collaboration between the Friends of John Muir’s Birthplace and Sustaining Dunbar to establish the What If? project means that this exhibition is just the beginning of the long-term goal for Dunbar and district to be “a home to thriving people, in a thriving place, while respecting the wellbeing of all people, and the health of the whole planet”.
